The ‘Student Accommodation Quality Label’ is awarded based on an overall assessment of the accommodation and predefined mandatory criteria:
Facilities:
Size of the accommodation
Kitchenette and bathroom facilities (toilet, shower, washbasin) that are separate and located inside the accommodation (outside the bedroom)
Access to a telephone line or internet access
Energy Performance Certificate
Hygiene:
Compliance with health and decency standards
Quality of insulation and ventilation
Sufficient natural lighting and access to fresh air
Compliance of wastewater disposal systems
The accommodation is not subject to an unfitness or danger order
Safety:
Safety of the surroundings, the building and the accommodation
Quality of the building and common areas
Electrical and heating systems that comply with and are suitable for the characteristics of the accommodation and common household appliances
